14 Sep 2011We have had a pretty busy year so far, and we have worked very hard to enhance our products and develop new ones. September has seen 2 new product launches: the new HandyPROBE CMM and the all-new MaxSHOT 3D optical coordinate measuring system.
As for the HandyPROBE CMM, the sturdier and slimmer device shed a little more [...]

20 Jun 2011In its edition of July 2011, Medical Design Briefs published an article in which we explain our development strategy for the medical industry.
Basically, we have decided to further development in this field through original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements.
We have developed an application programming interface to increase the adaptability of our data acquisition software. Ultimately, this API ensures [...]

2 Jun 2011A company called Marinexpert Plus inc. came to us for a project involving ship stability certification. The mission was to scan 12 ships in dry dock, with 15 to 25 meters in length, spread in several marinas in the province of Québec and over several hundreds of kilometers.
Creaform’s course of action took into account the [...]

28 Apr 2011Today, we introduced the new VXtrack dynamic tracking software module.
When teamed with Creaform’s C-Track dual camera optical sensor, VXtrack dynamic tracking can be used to simultaneously and continuously measure positions and orientations in space with great precision.
Combined with the HandyPROBE arm-free portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM), VXtrack provides a complete portable 3D measuring solution offering [...]

5 Jan 2011Google just launched “Body Browser,” a WebGL application that lets users explore a high resolution, interactive 3D model of the human anatomy–from the skin down to the nervous system.
From what we saw, we can tell that it’s a very accurate and instructive application. We were very happy to find out that Creaform is going pretty [...]

18 Oct 2010More than ever, VXelements is the common platform for Creaform’s technologies. The C-Track can now be operated directly from VXelements instead of having two different layers of software interacting together, thanks its VXprobe module. Other modules available in VXelements are VXscan (which takes care of the scanning duties) and VXtrack (which allows real-time 3d tracking). [...]
VXelements includes a slider which aims at simplifying the life of its users when it comes to producing a cleaner output with our scanners. Located in the facets node of the project tree, its label is fairly self-explanatory: Fill Holes.
The slider will automatically fill in the smaller holes which may have been left on the [...]

1 Jul 2010Motion Capture is the term used to describe the process of recording movement and translating all the movements into a computer graphic model. The MOCAP is used to enhance the quality of the movements in a lot of movies and video games. For example, James Cameron used the motion tracking for the facial expressions and the [...]

18 Mar 2010Since the introduction of the HandyPROBE, this device has been functioning in a third-party inspection software, such as PowerInspect or Polyworks. This requirement made it hard to combine both the probing results from the HandyPROBE with the mesh file from the Handyscan 3D. However, since VxScan 4.0, this integration is much easier.
In VxScan 3.1, we [...]

9 Dec 2009After having read an article in the French cad.magazine, I felt like discussing the subject. I feel the packaging industry is very innovative and keeps pushing back limits to pique the interest of everyone, and particularly of us, consumers!
Not only do they push back the limits of aesthetics, but they also push back the limits [...]
This blog is definitely about innovation - about new technologies, new methodologies, new projects and new outcomes.
Through this blog, we will reach to the whole Creaform community and share info about the 3D world – our world.
